If you’re not computer-savvy, you may not have been introduced (yet) to the wonderful world of podcasts. Podcasts are recorded “talks” about a variety of subjects that you can download and play whenever you feel like listening to them either on your computer or your MP3 player. Millions of subjects are available as podcasts and many of them are free.
For example, Apple offers a webpage dedicated to explaining how to access podcasts, download them, and listen. It even gives you directions on how to create your own podcasts!
Another great site is Podcastalley.com. It offers podcasts that range from health and beauty to pediatrics to politics.
Why would anyone want to take the time to download a podcast? Because it’s easy and makes listening to your favorite talk radio host or political figure or celebrity a breeze while you’re driving, running on a treadmill, flying on an airplane, sitting on the subway, or sitting in the back of the room during a very boring meeting.
Podcasts are another way to use technology to share and reshare information. Whether designed to be educational, opinionated, inspiring or simply entertaining, podcasts are the way to go.
