La-Z-Boy Inc. and Rowe Fine Furniture have come to an agreement where La-Z-Boy’s Clayton Marcus subsidiary will be sold to RFF. The sale is expected to be finalized before the end of September, 2007. The terms of the sale have not been disclosed.

This is the 3rd major sale by La-Z-Boy Inc. Who, earlier this year, sold two of it’s other subsidiaries, Moore Chair and Penn House.

Sun Capital, an investment firm located in Boca Raton, Florida recently purchased 250,000 additional shares of stock in Furniture Brands International, bringing their total shares to more than 4.3 million which is 8.9% of FBI’s stock.

Furniture Brands International has announced that they will be closing down their manufacturing plant located in Carysbrook, Virginia. This plant produces Creative Interiors products with 170 employees.

A Furniture Brands International spokesperson stated that the Virginia plant will be closed by November 23, 2007.
