Arranging Furniture to Avoid Stress in Your Office

Posted on Monday 19 February 2007

Setting up an office is more than just lining up computer desks and putting chairs under them. To reduce stress and pain from repetitive motions careful attention needs to be paid to how you arrange your office furniture in relation to the accessories that are most often used.

If you are constantly stretching to reach for a file cabinet, copier, paper cutter or other office tool those things need to be placed conveniently so that you will be able to reach them in the easiest and most efficient way.

Another way to reduce stress is to get up from your desk and walk around occasionally. Sitting in the same position for long periods of time can cause neck and back pain.

You want your office to be a comfortable place to work in. Proper arrangement of your furniture and accessories can go a long way in increasing your comfort and reducing your stress.
