Computer Cord Management for All Desks
Posted on Thursday 19 January 2006
Computer cord management is essential for the safety and overall attractiveness of a room. When computer wires and power cables are not properly secured, they can easily become trip hazards are be inadvertently pulled out of place, potentially causing thousands of dollars in medical expenses or equipment repair. In addition, a mess of cables snaking across the floor or wall is an eyesore, and draws attention, making the overall appearance of a room seem cluttered and messy.
Computer cord management needn’t be a problem. Several different systems exist to organize and hide these ugly wires. Most consist of holes drilled directly in the work surface’s platform near the back so that the cords from the computer can run below the desktop. A system of moveable, adhesive patches that allow the cords to be collected and secured are then applied to the back sides of the station’s legs where they are not visible. These cable management systems are inexpensive and can change the entire look of an office or classroom.
