Drafting Table Accessories

Drafting table designs are typically basic, providing the primary necessary functions: tilting surfaces, storage, and height adjustability. While all of these functions are obviously important drafting table features, many users overlook the potential to accessorize a drawing table the way they would a computer desk. If a drafting table is your primary work station, making it as comfortable, organized, and convenient as possible can significantly affect your efficiency.

Drafting table accessories can provide that extra convenience and comfort for the user. Additional products like moveable utensil holders, additional shelves, and height-adjusting platforms can make a tremendous difference, and yet, typically cost very little money. Because many people don’t consider the options of adding accessories, they think their drafting tables are complete when taken out of the box and don’t take the additional steps to really customize their working environment to their own needs. When choosing a drafting table, don’t just pick one that “seems” satisfactory. Consider the amount of time you’ll be using, where frequently used resources are kept in the room, what tools you employ most in your work, and what would, in effect, make your work easier. Once those questions are answered in your head, you are ready to begin to customize your drafting table so that it reflects you as an individual. Your furniture and surroundings should conform to you, not vice versa. Adding one or two accessories to a drafting table can sometimes make all the difference.
