Drawing Table – A Designer’s Source of Inspiration

Posted on Wednesday 18 January 2006

Drawing table features should be more than just four legs and a platform. A drafting table is the foundation of a designer’s tools. Before the pencils and protractors, before the sheets of paper and spongy, crumbled bits of eraser dust, there is the table. It is what brings inspiration and imagination together today, to create what will be tangible tomorrow. Drawing tables should be an extension of the user-every sleek line and angle meticulously formed to fit the designer’s needs and desires.

Drawing table designs should include tilting, adjustable work surfaces; height-adjusting platforms; an attractive design, and beautiful, durable laminate finishes. Just as every artist is different, so should his/her workspace be different, tailored to the personal flair of the one who will spend his/her time creating there. Solid, steel frames provide stability even on carpeted surfaces, while locking casters make reconfiguration of the room a breeze. Drafting tables are the anchor of an artist’s haven-whether at home, in an office, or in a studio.
