Home Office Safety for Toddlers
Posted on Sunday 9 March 2008
A lot of home offices have been created out of the necessity or desire for mothers to be able to spend more time with their children. But, no matter if you’re a work at home mom or dad, the home office needs to be child proofed!
Making your office a safe environment for your children will depend a lot on their ages. Lots of safety precautions are just a given with parents, like the basic measures of keeping sharp objects out of their reach. But, if you have toddlers it will take much more than that to keep them safe!
The best way to get an idea of what can cause injuries to small children is to get down on their level. Literally get down on your hands and knees and look into their world!
If you have a child that is crawling and beginning to learn to walk, then you know that they will reach up for things to hold on to and stand up. One of those things could be your CPU! And, although they’re not that heavy to us, they can be very heavy if pulled over on a toddler. Using a CPU holder can help prevent injuries to those little legs!
Another very important measure of safety for children is to use cable management! Not only can little feet easily get tangled in all the wires, they also pose the threat of electrocution!
Kids are going to be kids and all injuries can’t be prevented no matter how hard we try. But, with a little effort many of the dangers can be prevented!
