When talking in front of an audience, a podium seems to give you a little more confidence. Maybe it’s just in the fact that you’re not in full view of everyone, or that you’ll just have somewhere to place your hands.

But, a podium is a necessity if you’re giving speeches or reading from any kind of written documents. You need somewhere to lay those documents and a podium is the obvious choice.
