Vaughan-Bassett Furniture is teaming up with the Virginia Department of Forestry to encourage tree planting.
John Bassett, chairman and chief executive of Vaughan-Bassett has been credited with coming up with the idea.
Vaughan-Bassett bought 150,000 seedlings which it will be giving away free to land owners, towns, and schools in Virginia. This is being done in an effort to replace trees that have been harvested for the manufacturing of furniture.
