Basic Keyboard Arm and Tray

Our ergonomically designed Basic Keyboard Arm and Tray not only reduces the risk of repetitive motion injuries like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, but also looks beautiful with one of four attractive, scratch-proof finishes. User comfort is the focus on this keyboard arm and tray which tilts up to 15 degrees with a simple twist of a knob and lifts/lowers up to 6 inches with a single touch, making it easy to adjust positions frequently without disrupting workflow.

When not in use, the Basic Keyboard Arm and Tray retracts completely underneath the surface of the table or desk to protect the keyboard and create a clutter-free workspace. With three sizes to choose from, finding the right size to fit your table or desk is easy. The 20" tray supports a standard sized keyboard while the 28" tray provides adequate space for an extended keyboard or a standard keyboard and mouse. Basic Keyboard Arm and Tray

Brad S., Engineering

Ergonomics' is a huge buzz word now-a-days. But the key to an ergonomic workspace isn't just the design itself. It's the ability for the user to constantly adjust his or her desk, chair, keyboard, etc. throughout the day as his or her level of fatigue changes. This is what enhances comfort. And our Basic Keyboard Arm & Tray does exactly that.

5 Love it! Love it!

So easy to install but so strong and sturdy! It is very easy to adjust and has a huge range of motion to fit every requirement. Bought this several years ago when I was having some upper back problems at work. This keyboard tray works so well that I had to remove it and bring it with me when I moved to a different office. 100% Thank you

4 Nice quality. Good old American craftsmanship

We were pleased with the quality and ease of installation. The only thing we couldn't do was turn the arm sideways when installing as directed. The mechanism seemed locked in the right position and even after mounting it to the underneath bracket it wouldn't budge. So we left it as is and finished the installation. The tray is slightly higher on one end so we don't know if that has anything to do with the slight variance but it isn't enough to cause a problem at this point.

5 More than basic!

I've bought a "basic" keyboard arm/tray combo before from Office Depot. This is much sturdier and I love the 28" length to give me plenty of room for the mouse. It is sturdy enough that I can move the keyboard off and use it as a writing surface. I had a little trouble assembling it but called customer service and the person I spoke with gave me a helpful tip that got me straightened out. I needed a tray with no built-in wrist rest as I have a Mac and the keyboard is flat enough not to need one. I am very happy with this purchase and would buy their products again.

5 Good on my wrists

I love that I can adjust my drawer not to be more comfrtable and have less strain on my wrists instead of having to contort my body to a position that is good. Especially appreciate this affter long hours of typing.

4 Helps relieve wrist pressue

I thought i woudl try this out since my hands feel sore after working all day on teh conputer. Maybe I should have just got the more expensive model since the reviews were better for that one but I didn't so here I am. But this one is pretty goood. I guess I just wonder what I am missing out on with the price difference. Anyways, this was a little hard to figure out how to install but I it has really helped with my pain sicne I am using it now.

5 So worth the money!

I finally decided to break down and spend the cash for one of these because i was getting tired of the keyboard drawer and my wrists always hurting. I wish I'd done it sooner. This thing works exactly the way they say it will. It's easy to tilt and raise whenever you feel like it. No adjusting necessary and when you're done you just shove it under the desk top which keeps the keyboard from getting dusty. I will never not have one of these on my computer desk again.

5 Computer drawer is really great!

No instruction were included in box. Installation was pretty easy, but it would have been helpful to confirm how it should be installed. Computer drawer is really great! Solid, smooth, much better than the plastic ones that I purchased at Staples. I am ver happy. Thank you.

5 customer service is incredible

The product is excellent and your customer service is incredible. We have two of your keyboard trays at home and love their versatility and durability. This one was ordered for a special computer workstation project for a quadraplegic that we assist. After several re-designs, the keyboard just would not work with her wheelchair maneuverability. The keyboard had to be installed on top of the desk to allow her to get close enough to use a mouthstick. Your customer service was kind enough to allow a return after that much time and we thank them for that. Great product.

4 Great for carpal tunnel

I decided to spend the money on this after my doctor tried to talk me into having carpal tunnel surgery. Changing to this keyboard tray along with ultrasound done by my chiropractor and accupuncture saved me from having surgery. It is definitely worth the money!

Posted by on Mar 30, 2012

4 customer service was GREAT

A padded cusion on the wrist bar might be nice, and covering the sharp edges a little. Worried about the life of my stockings. :) More importantly, the instructions should include dimensions for installation. That would have been helpful. However, I must say that I ordered the wrong size, sent back for the right size, and your customer service was GREAT. Thank you.

We got the largest keyboard tray but it could be even larger to handle and ergonomic keyboard and a mouse pad.

Posted by on Mar 19, 2012

4 Good product

The tray should have come with a simple piece of paper giving a template as to where the holes should be drilled on the underside of the table. The template could actually have been printed on the shipping box. Okay, it was pretty simple, and I made my own template. Impossible to install without one. Good product.

5 Perfect perfect perfect

I don't usually write reviews for products but I felt I should for this because getting this keyboard holder made such a huge difference for me with my carpal tunneling I actually can spend more time at the computer than I was before. The way it works is you just lift it and it stays were you put it and you can angle it however you want and twist it so when your arms get tired you just change the position and you aren't putting so much pressure on the same part of your arm or wrist. Also my husband and I share the same computer so it allows us to not have to change the height of the chair instead we just adjust the keyboard tray and then its the right height for both of us which is great. I highly recommend it.

It is a little reluctant to move back and forth. I really have to apply force to get it to move. Also, the location of the wheel to fix/release is hard to get to. Its a good thing I'm not any older!

The keyboard drawer keeps sliding out rather than staying in when done typing. The keyboard drawer bounces too much when trying to type making typing difficult.

4 it is holding up well and working well

(1) As I remember, the metal part that attached to the underside of the desk was not well described and I had a hard time deciding which was its "front end" because the two ends are similar but not quite the same. Positioning it under the desk was not too well described, but I think I figured it out OK. (2) It would be nice if the tray were an inch or two wider, side to side - there is barely room for the mouse to be used next to the keyboard. (3) Otherwise, it is holding up well and working well, and serving its purpose nicely. We like it. (4) I seem to remember having to enlarge at least one mounting hole slightly on the metal piece that attaches to the underside of the desk, because it was a tad too small for the screws supplied (middle hole at front end?). But I might have this mixed up with a different product not yours!

5 I'm very pleased

It's working as designed, looks great attached under the drawer of an 1860's antique sideboard I use as my computer desk! Half the price of others I looked at so I'm very pleased.

the instructions need to be written more clearly. I ordered an under the desk keyboard drawer but realized at the time that I went to put it on I would need to take a great deal of it apart to do it so it's sitting in a corner. I had already taken the desk apart once to attach the side shelf.

5 Your product is great!

Your product is great! I have two of them using Microsoft ergonomic keyboards and they work exceptionally well. I did add some lithium grease to the slides to get a little smoother sliding. One possible improvement would be to have a model that adds an inch to the depth (from 10" to 11") to better accommodate the larger ergonomic keyboard. I use the wider 28" model to include room for the mouse. The added inch would also give more mouse movement area as well. Overall I am very happy with these keyboard trays.

Directions were not very clear for installation. No instructions on how far to drill holes from each other. After much to do and frequent contact, after drilling all the holes, the keyboard tray will not stay in the tracks. Very frustrating and upsetting! Went to inquire about a return/refund. I was informed there would be a fee for returning! I am not impressed! Will not be purchasing from you again.

Posted by on Oct 11, 2011

5 the tray is excellent.

you could extend the slides so the tray comes fully out when mounted so that it is flush with the edge of the desk. Otherwise the tray is excellent.

4 Shipping was phenomenally fast and I received my order VERY quickly

The instructions were kind of minimal for the installation, and even weaker for the actual operation of the keyboard adjustment mechanisms. I finally was able to figure it all out and install the keyboard tray. Shipping was phenomenally fast and I received my order VERY quickly. Thanks very much.

BKA2410-B - Basic Keyboard Arm and Tray I will still send you a photo, but it's hard to show in a photo, but the arm is bent and the keyboard tray is not level. I did my best to compensate with shims when I installed it, but that doesn't work. I think the product I got might have been returned before, because the label on it was mostly scraped off when it arrived. I didn't realize that it was uneven until I had it installed, so I've been trying to deal with it. But I think I'm going to have to return it and ask for another one. I emailed you about this and you asked for photos--I will try to send some soon. Thank you. Judith

The unit does not seem to slide easily in and out. I don't know if I need to oil it or adjust something but it should go in and out more smoothly.

Posted by on Jul 25, 2011

It was hard to hold the mounting piece of the desk straight because the gloss is so slick, maybe you can put something that will grip it on the side that attaches to the desk, especially for the people that are trying to put it on from under the desk.

5 I am very pleased with the way this item works

I had to make a small adjustment on the mounting on my desk because of the way it is built, but it fits fine--your pictorials on your website were excellent. I am very pleased with the way this item works and I am happy with the quality. Thanks!

4 your keyboard tray was a lifesaver

Actually, your keyboard tray was a lifesaver. It was the only one I could find without a built-in wrist rest. Since my wireless keyboard already has a wrist rest, the redundancy in the standard keyboard trays was unnecessary and uncomfortable. My handyman/installer had a little trouble getting the keyboard tray straight (it was higher on one side than the other) but he managed to do so after a couple of adjustments. My only complaint is that the keyboard tray does not slide in and out easily. It takes some effort to pull it out and retract it. Otherwise, it was exactly what I wanted and you were the only source for this product. You may be interested in contacting companies who make built-in furniture to see if they would be interested in carrying your keyboard trays. Thanks so much--and if you have a suggestion for making the tray move a little more easily, I would appreciate it. Nina

5 I would recommend your company and products without reservation

Purchased these a nearly a year and a half ago. I continue to have issues with the keyboard trays breaking at the rails on the side. HOWEVER, your customer service has been prompt and attentive to our needs, which is the reason I finally felt compelled to give you all feedback. For the issues we have experienced, your company has been true to their guarantee and lifetime warranty. Every time I've called with an issue, your customer service team is quick to respond and resolve the issue. I would recommend your company and products without reservation to any other school seeking furniture! -Aaron

Quite happy with the unit as is. Has given back my desktop and stores the keyboard and mouse out of sight when not needed. Good unit.

5 I am very satified with everything

I am very satified with everything. I was very suprised that I could find such a high quality product online, have it delivered to my door, and have it be so easy to install. Not to mention it matches my cherry wood desk perfectly. Best yet "ITS AMERICAN MADE"! Yeah! P.S. I think the website is cool showing animation of how the tray works. Thank you for your products! Martin

5 Good product

Good product. The only minor comment I have is to use the same size screw head on all screws included in the packaging. The silver and black screws are the same size and mostly interchangeable - except they require different sized screwdriver heads. Again, a pretty minor comment.

5 The product is great. I love it

The product is great. I love it. Unfortunately for me, I probably ordered it a bit too small as I did not accommodate for my wireless mouse. But otherwise, it's great. Thanks.

I installked this ona table that is made from a hollow core door. You might add some directions of adding a board across the bottom of the table before installing the keyboard extender (which I did) and some directions about using something like a Molley to provide a sturdy support (which it definitiely needs). The weight and support needed is a little surprising when you think about how light a keyboard is. Not a complaint. Just a suggestion.

It is not easy to slide the tray in and out and move up and down. I have to do this when my son uses the keyboard tray.

ITS THE BEST KEYBOARD TRAY I'VE EVER PURCHASED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR QUALITY!!!!

5 The product quality appears to be great

The product quality appears to be great. Your installation instructions state to not mount the under desk plate less that 1" from the edge. They did not state the maximum distance from the edge. I did 2 inches to realize that if I moved it back from the edge any further, I would not have been able raise the keyboard at all. Suggest you include a maximum from the edge as well as the minimum. Otherwise the installation instructions are much better than average with great photos to help. Added suggestion-the pre-drilled holes for the Keyboard Surface worked great. If one cannot turn the desktop upside down, then, in my opinion, pre-drilling is required. It might be good to provide the recommended drill size, with a caution that the pre-drilling should be no more than 1/2" (or whatever you recommend). Hope this helps!

2 I was unable to use the tray

I had a very limited space to mount the tray. The dimensions given on your website failed to reflect the width of the tray with attaching hardware. I was unable to use the tray.

4 a very solid product

The unit I ordered met my expectations in every respect. After it was installed and I tilted the table for a more comfortable keyboard operating angle, the keyboard kept slipping off the table. I think it would make the product more versatile if you provided an optional "lip" to prevent this from happening. The lip (or possibly "pins") should not go completely across the bottom of the table because this could interfere with the hands operating a mouse on the table. This is a very solid product, versatile in its installation options and easy to install.

2 the keyboard and mouse isn't wide enough

The tray for the keyboard and mouse isn't wide enough. When using the mouse we have to bring it up on top so there is room to move it. maybe installing a pull out drawer that is just under the keyboard tray for the mouse would be a better option. Also having a monitor bar that has a better range of motion. We would really like to tile our monitor screen down, but it will only go up.

I ordered this product last weekend. Your website says that it takes a couple days for production. I realize there was a delay over billing, but that was resolved Wednesday. Why is my order still "in production"? I was expecting it to be on a truck to St. Louis by now. If you can't ship it by Monday July 26th, cancel the order or expedite shipping or provide a discount. I expect professional business practices, and I could have given my business to some other firm.

4 am very satisified with product

Possibly a small lip on the back side but all in all, am very satisified with product. The keyboard tray was quite stiff to push and pull so we put a little grease on the slider to make it slide much easier.

Posted by on Jul 23, 2010

2 like the size, shape and variable height of the keyboard tray

I like the size, shape and variable height of the keyboard tray BUT it jiggles when I type. I type pretty fast and it shakes my desktop and monitor and sometimes makes me dizzy. I realize that I didn't buy your table but I needed an 8 ft. desktop. I'm thinking of buying a monopod for my camera. Maybe I'll stick it under the keyboard tray and use it like a leg.

The mechanism to move the tray is very difficult to move and as I currently have arm, neck and hand pain I am not satisfied with how the tray moves. I would like to know if there is anything I can do to help it move more easily.

5 great product for the money

Keyboard tray: Vertical adjustment would make a better product. Include a template of the screw locations for mounting. It's pretty hard to hold it up to the underside of the desk and mark the screw locations - it's a two person job. Overall, though, a great product for the money. As far as I can tell, you have no competition.

Great product, great price. Unfortunately my keyboard tray arrived with some of the parts missing (screws). I emailed and called on Monday. I was told they would be overnighted to me the following day. Today is Thursday night and I still have not received them. The website indicates I will receive the package tomorrow.

The keyboard tray I ordered was broken in less than 2 months. Bought a different brand shortly afterward. It's still in use and working fine.

Posted by on Aug 2, 2009

4 It was heavier-duty than I expected

Although I'm happy with the product I was either given a different track piece (one that you attach to the underside of the desk) or the instructions just needs to be updated. On the instruction, the track piece had a built-in stopper on one end already. The one I got didn't. Instead of having to just put the stopper at the other end of the track, I ended having to put stopper on both ends. But if this is really the case, then not really a big deal. In this case, the instructions just need to be updated. Overall, I'm really happy with the product. It was heavier-duty than I expected.

Make a slightly wider platform. Slightly more detailed instructions. I got very lucky when installing under a desk, as opposed to open table. There is a front piece that would have obstructed sliding the unit into the bracket. I accidentally left just enough room to manuver.
